Man rapes 13-year-old boy in Bauchi state



Nigerian Police in Bauchi State arrested a man who allegedly raped a 13-year-old boy. The man was almost lynched by an angry mob. The mob was interrupted by the arrival of the police. The suspect, Yusuf Yakubu is a 28-year-old from Bayan Ganuwa Yalkubu Wanka Area of Bauchi Metropolis. He was arrested on Thursday 23th September, 2020 by Usman Ahmed, 46, of Unguwan Doya Gombe road Bauchi at ‘A’ Divisional Headquarters Bauchi. The victim was Salisu, 13, was lured into the suspects house and was raped.

The Public Relations of Officer, Mr Mohammed Wakil announced in a statement issued to journalist:

“On receipt of the report a team of Policemen were drafted to the scene. The victim was taken to the Specialist Hospital Bauchi for medical treatment.

 ‘Investigation is in progress after which suspects will be charged to court for prosecution,” the PRO stated.

The suspect was arrested and confessed to being guilty and will prosecuted.

On Wednesday September 22, 2020 about 11:00 am by policemen drafted to Udubo village in Gamawa Local Government Area of the State. 



Sgir Ahmed, 22, Muhammed Tukur, 24, Haruna Baba Babayo, 32, Musa Dahiru 30 and  Bappah Garba, 24, all from Unguwar Baba and Unguwar Chadi Gamamwa. They allegedly raped Hauwa (not real name), female,14 at different and N200 and N500. 

"The suspects have been raping one Hauwa (not real name) ‘f’ aged 14yrs of the same address at different times and occasion and given her N200, N500 respectively," Wakil said.

"When interrogated all the suspects confessed to the crime. The victim was taken to General Hospital Gamawa for medical attention. Sagir Ahmed mentioned above is wanted for another case of rape. Investigation is in progress after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution." 

 “Finally, the Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command CP Lawan Tanko Jimeta, called on the good people of Bauchi state to continue exercising their civic responsibility of pointing and giving vital information that may ease Police in its operations to stem the state of all vices of Rape/Crime and Criminality.” 

“Members of the general public are requested to always continue to provide timely information on the activities of criminals in their various localities to the nearest military and other security agencies location for prompt action".
