Pfizer announces a Vaccine that is 90% Effective


There is great jubilation across the globe as the pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer, announced the success of their vaccine against Covid-19. The vaccine, mKNA based which it co-produces with BioNTech scaled through an independent interim analysis of its phase three trials. Dr Albert Bourla, Pfize Chairman and CEO, said: “Today is a great day for science and humanity. The first set of results from our Phase three Covid-19 vaccine trial provides the initial evidence of our vaccine’s ability to prevent Covid-19. We are reaching this critical milestone in our vaccine development programme at a time when the world needs it most with infection rates setting new records, hospitals nearing over-capacity and economy struggling to re-open.” He went on to tank thousands of people that volunteered for the clinical trials and concluded with: “We could not have come to this far without the tremendous commitment of everyone involved.”

Dr Michael Head, senior research fellow in global health, University of Southampton said the result apar excellent but he urges caution.
