Salary foul play in Ekiti state


The trend of corruption and illegal salary claims that has bedeviled our socio-economic lives of resent, has surfaced in Ekiti State. According to NAN’s report, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Prof. Adio Folaya asserted that a whopping 20 million is lost every month on 362 ghost workers during a State Staff Verification Committee report to Gov Kayode Fayemi in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday. Gov Kayode said preliminary findings put the ghost workers at 652. It was further revealed that only 362 out of the sum were certified workers on government payroll as of June 2019. The committee recommended that very drastic measured be taken against the offenders which include illegal that illegal earning be recovered from workers pensions gratuities and legal prosecution for their crime.
