ASUU suspends 10 months strike

Students all over Nigeria have reason to celebrate the season on a more happy and grandeur note as the nightmare of their 10-months and indefinite staying at home has come to a close.

This was the result of the announcement made in the early hours of yesterday, 23rd of December, 2020, by the Academic Staff Union of University.

ASUU National President, Biodun Ogunyemi, made the announcement during a briefing of the union in Abuja.

Ogunyemi warned that the union would return to another round of strike action if the government fails in meeting its part of the agreement reached with the university lecturers for the strike to be called off. He noted that the reopening of the schools, considering the COVID-19 pandemic, lies with the Federal Government and Senate.
