EMPOWERMENT: Minister of state, labour and employment announced

His tweet read:

"As part of my activities last week, I travelled to Delta State to launch the Special Public Works Programme (774,000) jobs in my own Local Government Area (Uvwie LGA)."

He had visited his hometown in Uvwie LGA, Delta State and to Kickstart the empowerment as part of the Expanded Special Public Works Programme of the Federal Government. Honorable  minister, Festus keyamo, had empowered them with some wheelbarrows and cutlasses, much to the chagrin of Twitter users.

Quite a number of them have reacted this way:

Adenekan mayowa:

"it's a shame that someone like Festus Keyamo is doing photo shot for a grass cutting and wheel barrow pushing scheme, Indeed you have created a job for labourers, a prog that will function for 3months and its over

Have you heard of hand held grass cutting machines?"

Omoinomi_o, Said:

"You posted this with your chest oh. You gave them wheel barrow and cutlass. The roads in Uvwie are horrible, nothing works there and you give them wheel barrow like that will lift them from poverty. Have some shame. The abroad you travel to, is this what they do there?"

@yemieoke commented:

"A government that empowers citizen with cutlass and wheelbarrow is a failed government."

The visit to his hometown by the honorable minister was part of the Special Public Works Programme designed to engage 1,000 beneficiaries across the 774 local government areas. This programme is especially aimed at Those hit the hardest by the ravaging effects of COVID-19 pandemic which include pervasive hunger, poverty, environmental degradation and joblessness.
