Aliyu worked against his party in 2015 election - PDP


People's Democratic Party suspended their leader, Former Governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu and his title as their leader was removed. It was due to allegations against him for working against the interest of the party.

PDP spokesman Yahaya Usman, told reporters in Minna, that Aliyu was suspended because of the allegations of him working against former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 Presidential re-election.

Usman observed the party's leader in the states across 3 Senatorial district supported their decision.

They stated they now supported Governor Nyesom Wike that said, "former Gov. Aliyu owed PDP an apology for admitting his betrayal in 2015 election."

He worked against former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 election, Governorship candidate Alhaji Usman Nasko, and even denoted funds to the opposition party.

Wike stated recently in an interview on Television that they were campaigning not knowing the betrayal at work and despite Aliyu actions, he ran for senator in the election and lost.

Aliyu admitted that 19 Northern governors had worked against Jonathan in the re-election in 2015 because of the signed agreement that he will serve only for a term.

Jonathan, Governor Jonah Jang of plateau state and Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa state denies having any knowledge of such statement.

Former Deputy Governor of the Minna state, Dr Shem Zagbayi was appointed as the new leader of PDP.
