India runs out of Coronavirus vaccines

Authorities said on Friday that many Indian states had run out of coronavirus vaccines a day before a scheduled expansion of a national inoculation drive, as new infections hits high daily.

New cases increased by 386,452 in the last 24 hours, while deaths rates increased by 3,498, according to data from the Ministry of Health. However, medical analysts say the real figures are five to ten times higher than the official tally.

According to a Reuters tally, India has added around 7.7 million cases since the end of February, as the country's second wave of infections has gained traction. The previous 7.7 million cases, on the other hand, took nearly six months to introduce.
