Judgement was postponed on the case filed by PDP against Akeredolu

 

The three main panel of Ondo state election petitions Tribunal sitting in Akure state were to pass down judgment on a case filed by the candidates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Eyitayo Jegede against the victory of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in the last governorship election but it was postponed till on Tuesday. It was changed till on Tuesday for unstated reasons.

 They claimed that Akeredolu and his deputy Lucky Aiyedatiwa were not nominated validly and insisted the governorship be revoked from Akeredolu. However, they presented no witness.

 The judgement would be delivered via zoom by 10am due to the ongoing strike by members of the Judiciary Staff of Nigeria which has caused all Court in Ondo state to remain closed till further notice.
