Reverend Audu appointed as new Archbishop

Simon Bako Lalong, the Governor of Plateau declares that love, tolerance and religious harmony are the fastest means for having peace, security and good governance in Nigeria. 

The ordination and reception of pallium by the new Catholic Archbishop of Jos Reverend Dr Matthew Ishaya Audu was held at the Divine Mercy Cathedral Lalingo Jos. 

He congratulated and praised the Archbishop for his dedication to ensuring that the will of God is implemented in Plateau state and the world through the church. 

He also encouraged Religious leaders to speak the truth to the authorities and the public, they should avoid and shun rhetorics that gives way to hate, division and distrust among the people. He pleaded for Religious leaders to guard strictly against politicians, men in authority and other interests desperate to use the pulpit to achieve their selfish aims. 

People like Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyant Buba also congratulated the Archbishop and promised their support. Archbishop Audu thanked God for the privilege of receiving this assignment which he intends to do his best to discharge. He also thanked his holiness Pope Francis for the new ordination.
