Abia state imposed curfew has extended to other parts of the state


The government of Abia state has extended its curfew to other towns in the state.

Due to the recent attack by gunmen in the correctional centre in Owerri and the Imo state police station, the curfew was put in place. 

The curfew has now been extended to all town, and in two local government areas of the State namely; Ummuneochi and Bendi local government areas.

People who reside in Aba and Umuahia areas of the state would observe their's from 8pm to 6am daily, the curfew in other local government areas will run from 6pm to 6am daily.

A statement that has been signed by the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Chris Ezem made it known that the governor has extended the curfew to other parts of the state.

Those on essential duties are to have proper identification as they are been exempted from the curfew.

All chairmen of the local government areas in the state are directed to deploy Vigilante groups, so as to support the security agencies that are being put in place by the governor so as to protect life and properties in the state.
