Boko Haram terrorist groups attempted to invade Maiduguri

Boko Haram terrorist groups made an attempt to invade Maiduguri, Borno state, northeast region of Nigeria.

Although, they declared they would not attack during the ramadan season but that wasn't the case. Nigerian troops fought against them after a gunfire exchange at jiddari Polo area of Maiduguri, their usual entry points from Sambisa forest. These went on for about an hour before military reinforcement came.

During the period of the gunshots, so many residents locked themselves at home who had planned to go shopping and others for prayers, while others were trapped in the mosque.

Residents who stayed within this area returned home after they fled. They were supervised under security checks in order to prevent the entrance of any terrorists.
