Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrests Abdulfatah Ahmed


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested the former Governor of Kwara state, Abdulfatah Ahmed.

According to reports, he was being questioned by the operatives of the EFCC team in Abuja. 

He arrived at the EFCC headquarters at about 10 a.m on Monday, for questioning.


According to reports, he was being interrogated for about seven hours and also wrote some statements too. 

Reports said he was arrested for diverting a sum of 9 billion naira. Sources told, from the account of the Kwara state government. 

The money was diverted during his tenure as governor of the state, and when he served as the Commissioner for Finance in the administration of former Governor Bukola Saraki.

Spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed he responded to the invitation and came to the headquarters for questioning.
