Lagos State appoints 100 new principals

The Lagos State government has approved the appointment of 100 new school principals and promoted 96 teachers to the position of vice-principal in government school across secondary schools in the state.

This information was confirmed via a statement issued on Thursday by the State's Teaching Commission (TESCOM) and signed by the agency's deputy director in charge of public affairs, Kayode Sutton.

The statement revealed that the TESCOM Chairman, Mrs Elizabeth Ariyo stated that this development was necessary following the retirement of several principals and vice-principals across the state.

The last time state made such appointments was in February 2020 when the appointments of 403 principals and vice principals were announced.
