Nigeria is safer today than it was 2015 - Garba Shehu

Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu has bizzarely said that Nigeria is safer now when compared with how it was when  President Muhammadu Buhari took over.

He said this during an interview with Channels television and he also stated that in terms of Boko Haram insurgency, the country is a safer place than it used to be in 2015.

He added that new challenges have come up, like the farmer-herdsmen clashes, killings in central sections of the country but that they have been reduced to the barest minimum. He added that the problem of sabotage of oil installations of the South-South, has been managed up to this point.

He urged that challenges of banditry and kidnappings had arisen in different parts of the country including the South-West but today the South-West is the safest part of the country.

The challenges are centred around the northern parts like Kebbi, Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna. He also stated that most of the insecurity in Kaduna had been gotten rid of and that Katsina is much safer than it was 2 years ago. He also added that Zamfara are dealing with their problems both kinetic and non-kinetic.
