Nigerian Government declares 132 travellers wanted for breach of COVID-19 regulations


The Nigerian government has publicly declared about 132 travellers as 'persons of interest' for reportedly breaking new COVID-19 guidelines in the country.

A statement issued on Thursday night by the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19 and signed by its chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said the listed individuals just visited or arrived from India, Brazil and Turkey and that they are potential health hazards to the society.

Prior to this development, the Nigerian government previously declared about 90 person wanted consisting of Nigerians and others alike, for committing the same offence.

The PSC has therefore sought for the whereabouts of this persons and asked them to present themselves for the necessary and appropriate evaluations. The statement added that the alleged violators evaded their mandatory 7-day quarantine at the port health facilities before being allowed to move around in the country.
