Omoyele Sowore shot during protest

 


Popular publisher and activist, Omoyele Sowore has been shot by a policewoman during a #BuhariMustGo protest in Abuja, The Federal Capital Territory today, May 31.

He was shot at the Unity Fountain in Abuja by a female police officer. The female officer, who is said to be an ACP, but she has not been identified at this point in time. Law enforcement agents fenced the Unity Fountain with iron and cables so as to prevent people from protesting. It was later discovered that Sowore was shot at directly with a teargas canister which goes against the Anti-Torture Act of 2017

Sowore is alive and was pictured being taken to the hospital
