Railway vandals arrested in Ogun State

The Ogun State Police Command have confirmed the arrest of six persons for vandalism of the railways tracks at Oteyi area of Ibogun  in Ifo Local Government Area.

The suspects are; Taiwo Ismaila, Egbekunle Abiodun, Abdullah Sanni, Nuru Ibrahim, Wasiu Aweda and Babatunde Sikiru. They were arrested following intelligence information received by the Divisional Police Officer, Ibogun Division, Samuel Oladele that the vandals were removing some of the rail rods along the railway tracks.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Police command in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, he said that immediately they received the privileged information, the DPO, CSP Samuel Oladele led his officers to the scene where the six of them were caught in the act and were promptly apprehended.

27 rail iron rods, two burning torch with hose, six long cylinders, three short cylinders and one inter-colder Volvo truck with Registration Number SMK61XY were recovered from the suspects when they were arrested on Sunday.
