Sokoto state police rescues a girl locked up and starved by her parents


Sokoto state police have rescued a girl whose name is  Joy Emmanuel, after she was  locked up for about eight months by her parents, whose names are; Bassey and Esther Emmanuel at their home in Sokoto state.

According to news that was gathered, Joy was locked up without food because she has a very serious mental condition.

The spokesman of Sokoto police command who confirmed the news, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, said the girl was rescued on, May 13, while her parents have been arrested and detained by the police at Kowa police station.

The girl have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
