Tanker goes ablaze on Otedola bridge

The Otedola bridge has now become a frequent point where road accidents happen. On Friday, a tanker carrying petroleum products caught fire on the same Otedola bridge.

Fortunately, the Fire Service, The Police, Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) AND LASEMA were all on hand to control the situation and manage traffic.

Due to frequent accidents ocvuring on this bridge, the Sector Command of the FRSC in Lagos, Olusegun Ogungbemide said there were no demons in the area rather it was because of the recklessness of the drivers and the use of trucks that are no longer in usable condition.

Recall that last year, 2020, a tanker filled with diesel exploded and over 11 people sustained serious injuries.

The tanker involved in this accident collided with another truck carrying goods as well as a saloon car. The head of the tanker had already caught fire when the men of the fire service tried to put it out before it reached the ground.
