Ibrahim Ahmad Lawan appeals for restraint against revenge upon the killers of Ahmed Gulak

President of Nigerian Senate, Dr Ibrahim Ahmad Lawan appealed to all seeking revenge for the brutal murder of Chieftain of All Progressive Congress APC, Ahmed Gulak in Owerri, Imo state to maintain restraint.

Gulak, the former Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, also the former aide to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, was murdered on Sunday morning by unknown gunmen on his way to Sam Mbakwe Airport to catch a flight to Abuja in Owerri, Imo state.

Lawan advised individuals seeking revenge to wait for relevant authorities to serve justice rather than taking laws in their hands to execute justice. The death of Gulak affected the country as a whole.

In a statement issued by Lawan on Monday through his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi described the helinous crime as one amongst many and the criminals should be brought to book.

There's no justification for any cause to brutally murder a human being. Lawan extended his condolences to the bereaved family and to the people and government of Adamawa state.

Imo State Police Command disclosed they have neutralised the killers of the foremost politicians and his lawyer. The vehicles and ammunitions used were also recovered.

The armed weapons as listed were three AK 47 rifles, one pistol, five AK 47 magazines with 92 rounds of live ammunitions.

Reports from sources stated the Arewa Youth under the aegis of Northern Youth Council of Nigeria declared Governor Hope Uzodinma unwelcome and not acceptable in the North, if he fails to produce the killers in his domain.

The threat however was withdrawn following the announcement of the elimination of suspected killers of the late politician by the Imo State Police Command.
