Kaduna-Abuja train breaks down along Dutse, Kaduna state

Kaduna-Abuja train under the Nigeria Railway Corporation broke down during its journey from Kaduna thereby leaving hundred of passengers stranded.

From reports forwarded, the train had stopped twice before it finally broke down in Dutse, Kaduna state. Although the journey was brought to a halt, rescue locomotives were sent for and they arrived few hours later. Hence, passengers were able to continue their journey.

Paschal Nnorli, the Abuja/Kaduna train service station manager stated the train had stopped due to brake failure, but the most important thing was that they were able to facilitate a quick response for the continuation of the journey embarked on.

The train was reported to be brand new and the locomotives failure was something they couldn't comprehend. Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi stated last year that any train along the Abuja/Kaduna route that failed up two times would be returned to China during an inspection in Lagos.
