Lai Mohammed: The power to prosecute lies in the hands of Attorney General of Federation


Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, reacted to Pastor E.A Adeboye tweet, that regardless of what was he says, failure to comply with Twitter ban, he will be prosecuted.

Recall, Pastor E.A Adeboye tweeted, "the RCCG is domiciled in over 170 nations, hence the need to keep on tweeting. Their usage is according to Article 19 of UN, Universal Declaration of Rights."

However, Mohammed states the power to prosecute lies is in the hands of the Attorney General of Federation, Abubakar Malami.

He disclosed this in an interview with BBC Africa Focus on Monday night, when asked if Adeboye will be prosecuted for using twitter.

He emphasized that when the ban is lifted everyone who had access twitter will be prosecuted.

Reno Omokri, former aide to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan cautioned Mohammed to be careful with what he utters from his mouth. He tweeted "Nigerians and Government relationship has been severed to a fault and Lai Mohammed keeps on adding to the drift.

"He is supposed to be an image maker but ends up a damage maker."
