New Aides for the First Lady approved by President Muhammadu Buhari


Directives came forth for the appointment of Dr Rukayyatu Abdulkareem Gurin as Special Assistant to President Muhammdu Buhari on Administration and Women Affairs in the office of first lady.

President Muhammadu recently approved of her appointment. She replaces Hajo Sani who had been approved as delegate to the United Nations Educational and Scientific Association (UNESCO) in France.

Gurin was however a Senior Lecturer in University of Abuja before her appointment.

The appointment of Dr. Mohammed Kamai Abdurrahman as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Health and Development Partners in the office of the First Lady was also approved by President Buhari.

Abdurrahman holds a Bsc in Medicine from University of Maiduguri. He had worked in several places before his appointment as Physician to First Lady in 2015 and reappointed in 2019. The list of his former working places are University of Maiduguri teaching hospital, Yola specialist hospital, Sithobella Health Centre in Switzerland, National Agency for Control of AIDS. 

Dr Abdurrahman would have to combine his new position with his personal role as a physician to the First Lady.
