Onyema Nwachukwu, resumes new appointment as spokesperson of the Nigerian Army


Onyema Nwachukwu, a brigadier general had been appointed to serve in a higher position as the new spokesperson of the Nigerian army. He will be replacing   Mohammed Yerima a former brigadier who had been appointed in February by late Chief of Staff Ibrahim Attahiru.

Nwachukwu had gained years of experience from serving in several appointments over the years before the current appointment.

He was the former Acting director of Defence Information at the Defence Headquarters, served as media coordinator of the Joint Task Force Operation Pull Shield, and was the Deputy Director of Operation Lafiya Dole Theatre command in Maiduguri. He had also been appointed as Assistant Director Defense Information, DHQ, Chief of staff Headquarters Directorate of Army Public's Relations Officer, NDA.

Nwachukwu graduated from University of Ibadan, and furthered his master's degree program in International Affairs and Strategy Studies in Nigerian Defence Academy, Post Graduate School, Kaduna.
