Police apprehends Mike Omoruyi and another with guns in their possessions


Mike Omoruyi, aged 37 Nollywood film producer had hired rifle guns for a film production about to be undertaken. 

Consequently, he had driven his car along Obiaruku/ Umuebu community in Delta state, along the way the Operatives of the Police Rapid Response Squad had stopped him and ransacked through his car. During the search, they had found a Lar rifle gun without any magazine, fabricated Ak-47 rifle, one air rifle, one pump action, one English double barrel gun and two guns in his car.

Another suspect was also apprehended on the road, Chief Otuya Josiah, aged 57, who was alleged to be a gun runner.

Omoruyi, was arrested immediately alongside with Josiah. Investigations are still ongoing in regards to the validity of their statement. However, from the interrogations carried out so far, it was revealed Omoruyi was a Nollywood producer who had hired the guns for a film production and Josiah had confessed to renting the same guns recovered from them to the Nollywood producer at the cost of N50,000.

The reports disclosed above was confirmed by the Delta state Police Command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali in a statement issued and signed by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP, Bright Edafe.
