President Muhammadu Buhari speaks at the Palace of Shehu, Borno state

President Muhammadu Buhari, speaking at the palace of the Shehu of Borno on Thursday expressed gratitude on the opportunity given to serve Nigerians. "I recalled back in Maiduguri whereby to be in this position was merely a dream.

"Back in those days, my political career started when I was stationed to serve the Governor of Borno state for seven months," Buhari said.

According to him, he owes Nigerians for the platform they had given to serve. His way of paying them back was to ensure adequate security and livelihood were provided for all Nigerians.

He commended the efforts of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state. Governor Zulum stands out as a rare one who is ever ready and dedicated to ensure peace, security and development in Borno state.

It's noteworthy to mention that he had undergone several risks in spending the nights with people in the state outside his residence.
