Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos state rewards ACP Ajunwa-Oparah with a house


Ajunwa Chioma-Oparah, the Assistant Commissioner of Police was the first woman to have ever won a gold medal in the 1966 Olympics games. The Government at that particular time promised to reward her a house.

In honour of the promise yet to be fulfilled, the Governor of Lagos State, Sanwo Olu gave Chioma Ajunwa the long awaited reward during a celebration ceremony organized to mark the victory of athletes representing Lagos in the National Sports Festival held in Edo state where Lagos state emerged with a total of 125 medals, 32 gold medals, 27 silver medals in the contest.

The 3 bedroom flat awarded to Chioma Ajunwa is located at Babatunde Raji Fashola Housing estate in Iponri, Lagos state.
