Prince Emiko is crown as the 21st Olu of Warri Kingdom

The deceased Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli's eldest son,  Prince Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko ascended the throne on Saturday, emerging as the 21st Olu of Warri. He was crowned by the Uwangue of Warri, Chief Gabriel Awala.

The waiting period of Prince Emiko's ascension which was delayed due to ceremonial rites, brought about talks as to why it seems Emiko was denied the throne. However, Prince Emiko's coronation ceremony was successful and every rumour were laid to rest.

Surprisingly, Prince Emiko's story is also touching, because his mother is still hale and hearty, alive to see her son ascend the throne after his father, which has been an uncommon sight in Warri Kingdom for quite a long period of time.

Furthermore, Ogiame Atuwatse III, Prince Emiko breaks records in Warri Kingdom. He overturned the generational curse placed upon the Olu Erejuwa II from 1951-1964 during his coronation. He did this during his introductory speech to his people.
