Chester Magistrates Court rejects Manchester City player, Benjamin Mendy's bail

Manchester City left back, Benjamin Mendy's bail that was rejected at Chester Magistrates Court. Mendy's bail application hearing took place on Wednesday. However, the hearing wasn't publicised for reasons not disclosed.

Mendy is expected to remain under the custody of HMP Altcourse, Merseyside. Altogether, it has been 6 days since his freedom was restricted. 

Recall, Mendy was charged last week Friday with four cases of sexual crimes, three were rape, while the other case filed was sexual assault.

From the reports given, the rape incidents happened around October 2020 but the case was recently filed this year. The other case of sexual assault was stated to have happened early January.

Mendy's victims are adults while one is underage. Mendy's trial is scheduled to hold on September 10th. Meanwhile, Manchester City contract with Mendy is on hold, till further notice.

The district dealing with the case is Jack McGarva and the prosecutor is Debbie Byrne.
