Tokyo Government extends state of emergency till the ending of september


In August, Tokyo Government announced state of emergency due to spread of Covid-19, the state of emergency will be extended till September 12th. 

However, Tokyo Government decided to further postpone the extension till the ending of September, due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases. 

The Government further stated companies should permit their employees to work from home more frequently rather than the to and fro movement from house to work. Although, Restaurants are still allowed to operate with the rule to ensure customers inside the restaurant are minimized and their opening-closing hours is expected to be shortened. Alcohol is also prohibited to be served in restaurants.

The extreme pre-cautionary measures is to ensure the spread of Covid-19 reoccurrence is minimized. From the last statistics calculations, Tokyo recorded 16,729 Covid-19 cases with 63 deaths. The State of Emergency extension was moved to cover neighborhood areas surrounding Tokyo, they are: Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa areas.

During the times of Covid-19 pandemic, the medical forces and resources have been exhausted, hence, Tokyo Government are working towards ensuring reinforcement and more funds for equipment and treatment.
